Making a Will does not take a lot of time and it is not expensive, yet nearly two-thirds of people who die in this country do so without leaving a Will.If there is no Will when a person dies the law decides who benefits from your money and your property and these may not be the people you wish to inherit. It is a common held belief that if you do not have a Will, your husband or wife will inherit everything but this is not always the case. Having no Will may leave your spouse in difficulty. If you have children, it is also important to name a guardian to care for them after your death and this can be done in your Will. It is never too early to take the time to make your Will. It is, however, extremely important that your Will is correctly prepared, signed and witnessed or else it may be invalid and of no effect. A Will is also a vital tool for tax planning and can assist in the saving of inheritance tax. As solicitors, we ensure that your Will is made in accordance with the law and covers all of your wishes in the event of your death. In addition we are pleased to undertake the role of executor if you so wish.
