Home Information Packs abolished
As from the 20th May 2010, Home Information Packs (HIPS) have been discontinued by the Coalition government. When a house is marketed a HIP is now no longer required, however under EU law Sellers are still required to obtain an Energy Performance Certificate. The abolition of HIPS has been welcomed by both house sellers and solicitors as these products were overly expensive and often did little to aid the selling process.
